Petunias are plants that belong to the Solanaceae family, and there are over 35 different species of the plant that are all native to South America.

They vary a lot in color, but this is an annual that is easy to grow and will complement any garden.

Petunias are annual plants that look striking in a garden, and they will bloom all summer long with the right care. They are not the hardiest plant, but they do come in a myriad of color options that will make any garden glow during the blooming season.

1. Petunia Bravo

Bravo petunia

This plant has a beautiful bloom that can come in blue, lavender, and shades of purple. It will look great along the edge of the garden because it is only about 10 inches in height, and there are darker veins that run through the petals to give them a unique look.

2. Cascadia Petunia

Cascadia

Growing to be about 16 inches in height and two feet wide, this is a lovely plant that has bright, colorful blooms that will attract pollinators. The flowers can be pink, cherry red, blue, yellow, lime green, magenta, or orange.

3. Crazytunia

Crazytunia

This variation is a bit more robust than some of the other petunias. It will grow to be about 10 inches tall. These have blooms that are bright red, bright blue, bright pink, and other colors. The middle of each flower has a black center that veins out towards the tips of the petals.

4. Grandiflora (Daddy)

Grandiflora

The blooms of these little beauties are about four inches in width. They come in bright colors, which include pink, red, purple, and more. These flowers have a unique vein that spiders through the petals and are a slightly darker shade than the blooms.

5. Littletunia

Littletunia

This next variation of petunias will look great in hanging baskets and containers. The flowers are relatively small, so each plant will have quite a few to tend to. These blooms mainly come in shades of purple and pink, which will complement most gardens.

6. Potunia

Potunia

This variety has a trumpet-shaped petal that is great at attracting hummingbirds and other small pollinators. These plants do not grow more than a foot in height, so they make an excellent edging for a garden space. Colors for the petunia include deep blue, deep red, red-orange, lavender, raspberry, light blue, cappuccino, and more.

7. Prism Petunia

Prism Petunia

This is a smaller petunia that only grows to be about eight inches tall, but it can have a spread that is more than 30 inches wide. The centers of the petals are often lighter than the rest, and they come in colors such as pink, yellow, purple, rose, and white.

8. Shock Wave

Shock Wave

This is another great variation that works well for containers or a garden that does not have a lot of space for larger plants. It only grows to be 10 inches tall, and if no other plants are growing nearby, it will be easy to grow to a width of three feet or more. Blooms can be pink, purple, white, raspberry, and coral.

9. Petunia ‘Supertunia Pink Star Charm’

With a height of 10 inches, this is a variation that will look great around the edge of the garden. Red, peach, pink, lavender, yellow, and white are common colors of this plant. Honey is also a color of this that I adore.

10. Pink Petunia Sweetunia Suzie Storm

Sweetunia Suzie Storm

The Sweetunia Suzie Storm is a beautiful variation that has pink and purple blooms. This plant loves the sun, and it is tolerant of high heat. The fragrant flowers attract pollinators, and the plant will only grow to be about eight to 12 inches in height.

11. Petunia Ultra Star

Petunia Ultra Star

This unique-looking plant has blooms that are red or purple with a white star that pops right out of the center of the plant. It is a very hardy variation that can easily grow to be about 15 inches in height. These look great in hanging baskets.

12. Petunia Kandy Kane

Petunia Kandy Kane

The Kandy Kane is a unique flower that will remind you of a candy cane that you might see during the holidays. This red and white plant will only grow to be about 12 inches high. It is a plant that does well in full sun and well-drained soil, but it will also tolerate a bit of shade.

13. Petunia Purple Vein Ray

Petunia Purple Vein Ray

These are beautiful flowers that produce purple and white blooms. The purple color is stronger near the center, and it spiders out across the petals. Typically, these will only grow to be about six to 10 inches tall, and they will have a width of about eight to 12 inches.

14. Easy Wave Yellow Petunia

Easy Wave Yellow Petunia

This variation of the petunia will grow to be about a foot high and up to 40 inches in width. Not only do the blooms come in a bright yellow color that attracts pollinators, but it can also be seen in coral, salmon, and pink as well.

15. Purple Night Skies

Purple Night Skies

This is a variation that comes in multiple shades of purple, and it looks like it has been splashed with white paint to resemble the night sky when it is filled with stars. It can grow to be 16 inches tall. The larger the temperature difference between the day and night, the more the stars will appear.

16. Black Velvet Petunia

Black Velvet Petunia

This is a lovely variation that is actually a deep violet color, but the blooms will appear to be black when you look at them. They are relatively small, so you will only see these plants at about eight to12 inches from the ground with a spread that is roughly the same width.
